Contents | In late 2015, the large-scale peatland fires occurred in Indonesia and 2.6 million ha was estimated to be burned with the GHG emissions of more than 1.5 Gt CO2-e, which are higher than the annual emission of Germany. The Government of Indonesia was quick to respond to this disaster by establishing Peatland Restoration Agency (BRG) in January, 2016. |
