Event Summary
As the climate crisis becomes more serious and obvious, to achieve decarbonization by 2050 is becoming the most important issue. While the government of Japan’s actions have been delayed, many local governments participating in the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI), such as Tokyo, Yokohama, and Kyoto are taking their strong initiative and aiming to be carbon neutral by 2050. This event focused on the front lines of challenges of major cities in Japan and the world and discussed the role of non-state actors.
