イベントスケジュール - COP25 JAPAN PAVILION
2019.12.12
Contribution to resilient regional symbiotic area by establishing an independent and distributed microgrid system that contribute to adaption to climate change
Organizer
- Challenergy Inc.
Co-Organizer
- Challenergy Philippines Inc.
Event Overview
The next generation 10kW wind turbine which Challenergy has developed is the world-first technology that enables to supply stable electricity even under harsh wind conditions such as typhoons. Island areas such as Southeast Asia and the Caribbean that suffer from risk of tropical cyclones and rely mostly on fossil fuels for power supply face a critical challenge in which electricity and communication systems get shut down for a long time after the disaster. By implementing a microgrid system as power source of Challenergy’s wind turbine, the power supply is stabilized in normal as well as disaster time, and the combination of satellite communication technology secures evacuation alarming system and external rescue request in order to accelerate post-disaster rehabilitation and contribute to construction of resilience.
In recent years, abnormal weather due to climate change has surfaced on a global scale, so an expert will introduce future predictions of tropical cyclones.
Speaker
- Mizumoto Shigeto, Challenergy Inc., Executive Officer / CSO
- Kazuhiko Aoki, SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, Asst. Unit President, Space Business Unit Executive Officer
- Keiko Ota, cent.FORCE Co., Ltd., Weather Forecaster
Event Summary
Ms. Keiko Ota, a weather forecaster who reported the typhoons No. 15 and No. 19 that hit Japan this year, about the disaster caused by the intensifying weather caused by climate change. In particular, she emphasized the need for urgent countermeasures against the expected seriousness of the natural disaster. Afterwards, Mr. Shigeto Mizumoto of Challenergy Inc. explained the features and marketability of Magnus Vertical Axis Wind Turbine, the world's first technology that can operate even in a severe environment such as a typhoon. In addition, from SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, Kazuhiko Aoki introduced examples of the use of satellite communications in the event of a disaster, as well as the new development of the satellite business, which contributes to mitigating climate change through solar power generation forecasting technology. In the last panel discussion, they introduced self-sustained distributed microgrid technology as a contribution to adaptation.
Message and Results
We could introduce our business development to the world having received respective parties from governmental and international organizations in the seminar.
Based on the policy of Japanese Government, we, Japan, all could demonstrate our specific solutions adopting their respective technology against climate change that was a great achievement of entire Japan Pavilion.
Japanese manufacturing technology will be leading the innovation same as it used to.
We, Challenergy will continue to develop technology and market in order to run at the front.
