Title	Japan's Contribution to the Kingdom of Morocco in the Field of Renewable Energy
Contents	This event will discuss Japan's contribution to the Kingdom of Morocco using Japanese technology in the introduction of renewable energy policies.

Session Summary	Presentation 1 (MASEN) The kingdom of Morocco has set the target to implement 52% of installed capacity derived from renewable energy by 2030. In order to achieve it, MASEN (Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy) is taking strong initiative of installing various types of renewable energy power generation systems such as solar, wind, hydro, and so on. As part of their activities, MASEN has been collaborating with Sumitomo Electric, and launched the 1MW Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) pilot plant in MASEN R&D site near Ouarzazate in November, 2016. Presentation 2 (Sumitomo Electric) Sumitomo Electric has been developing CPV power generation system. Compared to conventional silicon PV, CPV has various advantages such as higher power generation efficiency, negligible degradation at high temperature, etc. With tremendous support from MASEN, Sumitomo Electric constructed 1MW CPV pilot plant in Morocco, which starts operation from November, 2016. Sumitomo Electric would like to contribute to develop Moroccan renewable energy expansion and to bring investment and employment opportunities in Morocco.
Key Messages	MASEN is taking strong initiative to achieve the target of implementing 52% of installed capacity derived from renewable energy by 2030. With the launch of 1MW CPV pilot plant, Sumitomo Electric would like to contribute the development of Moroccan renewable energy expansion and bringing investment and employment opportunities in Morocco.
