Summary
This event introduced the 19 methodologies approved under the JCM, the features of the methodologies and their role in the global mitigation efforts. As more projects are being registered and implemented in the 16 partner countries, the JCM methodologies will be continuously developed and evolved. The event aimed to promote understanding on the current status of the JCM methodologies and discuss with host country representatives and international experts on how we could strengthen in terms of defining reference emission to ensure net emission reductions, building simplified monitoring approach and extending the approved methodology to other countries.
Key Messages
- It is important that the feasibility study be implemented to collect local data to reflect the host country’s condition, which need to be fully taken into account for the methodology for the successful of development of JCM methodology.
- It was proposed that the establishment of JCM methodology forum between partner countries would be quite useful to share the lessons learned and experience gained for the development of JCM methodology.
