Japan-India Policy Research Workshop: Inputs to Talanoa Dialogue

On 26 and 27 July, the 14th Japan-India Policy Research workshop was held in New Delhi, India, with a view to developing inputs for the Talanoa Dialogue. Keeping in mind the three key questions of “where we are?”, “where do we want to go?” and “how do we get there?”, fruitful discussions were carried out to look for ways to promote co-benefits of climate policies in Japan and India. Discussion topics included the current state of climate policy and future visions, promoting policy synergies and minimizing trade-offs in the field of air pollution improvement and employment generation, enabling conditions and international frameworks for increasing multiple benefits in ongoing national policy measures, and the design of the ratchet-up processes.
The outcome of this workshop will be summarised and submitted to Talanoa Japan as well as to the UNFCCC. For more information on this workshop, please refer to the links below.
