Celebrating the launch of Talanoa Japan, Rear Admiral (Retired) Josaia Voreqe BAINIMARAMA, Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji and COP 23 President-designate, shared the following message of support and encouragement with Ms. Naomi Tokashiki, State Minister of the Environment, Japan:
I express my sincere gratitude to the Government of Japan for supporting the call to accelerate climate ambition by launching “Talanoa Japan”.
As COP23 President, it was encouraging to witness that your Government has recognized the importance of Talanoa by making the process inclusive and transparent. I am hopeful that this great initiative will set the platform for other countries to follow and embrace the spirit of Talanoa.
As we approach COP24, I am confident that we will be able to deliver the outcomes we had agreed to and I, therefore, commend the Government of Japan in building the momentum.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurance of my highest esteem.
Sincerely
