Solid Oxide Fuel Cells system "MEGAMIE" :
a highly efficient power generation system that can generate
electrical power and heat energy simultaneously

Appearance of MHPS SOFC system "MEGAMIE"

The image concept of decarbonized society by utilizing SOFC in the town

Since SOFC produces electrical energy directly from chemical reactions process without combustion of natural gas or hydrogen, higher efficiency and lower CO2 emissions in power generation are expected. The MHPS's "MEGAMIE" is a highly efficient power generation system that can generate electrical power and heat energy (hot water/steam) simultaneously.

In case of a standard SOFC system of 250kW, energy saving is mostly equivalent to two large LNG gas tanks as compared with levelized grid thermal power plant in japan. CO2 reduction is mostly equivalent to the 1.5 km2 forest absorps. It can cover an electrical demand from one office building or 300 residential uses.

In addition to 250kW-class, the 1MW-class is under development for utility, large industrial plant and micro-grid. The market launch is expected in 2021.

By providing stable electrical power and reducing CO2 emissions, we will contribute to realizing "a safe and sustainable energy-environment society".
