Event Overview

First of all, Mr. Hiroshi Takahashi, Senior Planning Officer for Environment and Energy, From Environmental Policy Division, Policy Bereau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan gave the opening address.
In the first half of this seminar, an expert of the transport sector delivered a Keynote Speech. Mr. Yoshitsugu Hayashi is a President, World Conference on Transport Research Society, as well as Full Member, Club of Rome. The title was "Smart and Green Transport for Sufficient Society: Higher QOL for Everyone and Low CO2 for Global Ecosystem – Mobility as Hapiness".
Next, we had a Speech from Mr. Karl Peet, Research Director, SLoCaT Partnership. The title was "Scaling up sustainable low-carbon transport to meet Paris Agreement targets". And we had a Speech from Ms. Mary Crass, Head of Institutional Relations and Summit, International Transport Forum, OECD. The title was "Smart and Green Transport for Sufficient Society: Higher QOL for Everyone and Low CO2 for Global Eco-System".
Finally, we had a Panel Discussion. Panel Members were Speech Presenters and Mr. Hirotsugu Maruyama, General Manager, Eco-Mo Foundation.

Event Summary

In 21th century, majority of CO2 will be generated by today's emerging and developing countries. But countries like China and Thailand will start population decline in almost ten years and then face aging problems. Therefore what is requested to transport is to meet the growing demand at the same time human friendly system.
Today innovation in AI, ICT and IoT are advanced year by year. It is the time to fully introduce these innovations to achieve low carbon as well as comfort not only for young and strong working generations but also for elderly and handicapped people.
This seminar highlight these new trend.
